Peeping Caddis

The Peeping Caddis is a must have for matching a specific stage of the caddis hatch. Caddis nymphs make cases out of gravel and attach themselves to the bottom of rocks, then when they are ready to start the hatching process they are dislodged and begin to drift downstream in the current. As they wiggle their way out of the cocoon they’ve made, the caddis are at a vulnerable life stage, making for easy trout food. Tied on a size 12 barbless jig hook, weight with a black tungsten bead.

Tied by Logan Messina in Solon, Maine.
