Egg Laying Caddis

Adult Caddis often don’t lay their eggs in overhanging vegetation like they intend to. Sometimes they fall into the water and lay the eggs in the surface film. This fly imitates the adult Caddis with its attached egg sack on the surface of the water. It is tied with water resistant synthetic materials on the body, along with quality hackle, and finished with high floating Maine grown deer hair. This dry fly will dance in the pockets and float like a cork! Caddis are everywhere in aquatic habitats, here in Maine they are the primary food for trout in the late spring & summer months. Tied on a size 12, 14, and 16 barbless dry fly hook.

Tied by Logan Messina in Solon, Maine.
