There is one fish in Maine that really doesn’t get talked about that much (given its accidental inhabitance) in the fly-fishing community. It hasn’t been around all that long and to me, was revered as a unicorn of sorts. The fish of a ten thousand casts, the muskie.

To each is own is how I like to live. However, I believe some flies are teetering the line of what is and what isn’t a fly. The very definition for what is fly fishing and what is not is arbitrary and poorly defined at best and the definition of what constitutes a fly follows the same grey path.

something I’ve noticed, between fly and spin casting anglers, that truly troubles me, is the repugnance between fly and spin casting anglers. Where does it come from?
